June is World Cup month with major tournaments happening in women’s football and in cricket.

The 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup kicks off on 7 June in France while the ICC Cricket World Cup is currently taking place in England and Wales.
This month’s sporting schedule also features the French Open tennis grand slam, three Formula 1 grands prix (Canada, France and Austria), the Copa America football tournament and the US Open men’s golf major.
There’s also Major League Baseball in London with the Boston Red Sox taking on rivals New York Yankees.
France welcomes the world
Host nation France face South Korea in the opening match of the Fifa Women’s World Cup in Paris on Friday 7 June.
England face Scotland in group D on Sunday 9 June. BBC Sport will show coverage of all World Cup matches across its TV channels, website and red button.
